With the project, "met de wind", I want to highlight our dependence on and attention to the wind, and in that process, I explore how our connection to the wind can form a philosophical foundation for a life lived in tune with nature. The windmills I’ve created play music at a speed determined by the wind.

Uit de wind
The pavilion is an adaptive wall, that pushes against the wind with small sping steel latches. When the wind is angled right the latches close greating an “uit de wind” experience. this project plays with the idea of what inside-outside could also mean if we work together with the forces of nature.

Essay met de wind
This essay explores the relationship between humans and the wind in Dutch history. It investigates how we have lost our connection to the elements and how our connection to the wind can form a philosophical basis for a life lived in harmony with nature. As an example of this, I also highlight other wind-driven (indigenous) cultures in the essay. As a designer, I further ask how we can reshape our kinships and relationships with the wind.
